Rick's Bakery

Later that afternoon we were all craving a snack and Aunt Liz took us to Rick's Bakery. It was such a feast for the eyes with all of the homeade delicacies.

After some contemplation, Liz decided on a slice of cheesecake, John chose the chocolate chip cookies, I had a lovely strawberry cupcake with dreamy whipped icing, and the kids opted for swirl sugar cookies. We took our treats to the back area of the store where we viewed some lovely cake decorating.

I loved watching this--again something new that we hadn't done before. The cakes were super cool and I couldn't believe the overall quantity of things being prepared. There were probably 7 girls in this area at one time rocking it out. It reminded me of the show on The Food Network: Ace of Cakes.

Just check out that green wedding cake. WOW!

The girls of course enjoyed watching a princess cake that passed by and the doll cake that the girl in the front started on after this picture was taken.

There were many fantastic things on display throughout the store. Logan's favorite was the red razorback cake. Liz said he's requested it for his b-day.

One more cool thing that we did on this trip was go to a Drive-in Movie Theater. It was such a treat!!! (I hadn't been since my California days). Before we left, we bathed the kids and put them in their night clothes. Next we packed PBJ's, popped popcorn, and filled water bottles. Then we gathered blankets and pillows along with our camp chairs to bring to the scene.

Kung-Fu Panda was the first feature which was very entertaining and perfect for the kids. After it was over, the children layed down in the back of the van and fell asleep while the adults enjoyed a second show. We didn't get home until midnight that night, but again an outdoor movie under the stars was such a treat! The kids were super good and we always have the best time in Arkansas!!! Love you sister!
