We just returned from our Branson getaway. Originally we wanted to escape over my birthday but decided to go later in the week due to the heat index. As you can see by this picture, our trip to Silver Dollar City was basically a wash. We relied on ponchos to keep up dry and warm and we were set to "wait it out" but decided to leave because the outdoor rides were closed. Lightning was in the area so that meant no train, carousel, butterflies, or frog rides. (Sidenote: the train was also closed at the zoo-from earlier post- which was hard to swallow for our dear Maura).

We didn't let this get us down though. Here's a sign that cheered us up. My side of the family will appreciate this.
Doesn't this dude look like dad?
We just can't get over the resemblence.
:)The rain basically cleared the park.
Maura looked so cute in her poncho. It was a little long, but she never tripped.
