This post won't make since until you read the post just after it titled "Teaching via Resurrection Eggs". This was our second egg to open as we celebrate the events leading up to the crucifixion of Christ. It's was Maura's turn to open the egg which contained a small bar of soap and towel inside.
Our summary message was as follows:
"After eating the Last Supper, Jesus poured water into a basin. He then washed the Apostles' feet and dried them with a towel. Jesus explained that He had done this to teach them that they were to serve others."
We read from the Bible in John Chapter 13 verse 45.
We talked about the Last Supper and about how at the end of the meal Jesus washed his Disciples' feet. We spoke about how people back in Bible times wore sandals and how their feet would have been dirty at the end of the day from walking in the sandy soil.
We emphasized how much Jesus loved his disciples; and on his last night with them he wanted to serve them.
I then proceeded to wash Maura and Sophia's feet.
